MERCER COUNTY WILDLIFE CENTER
1748 RIVER ROAD (Route 29), TITUSVILLE, NJ 08560
Thank you for your interest in volunteering this season at the Mercer County Wildlife Center. The Center cannot fulfill its mission without the help of its many dedicated volunteers!
Mercer County Wildlife Center is a wildlife rehabilitation facility that admits 2,200 native mammals, birds, and reptiles each year that are injured, sick or displaced, with the goal of release back into the environment. Our busiest time of the year is May to September.
We ask volunteers to commit to one, four-hour shift each week for 6 months, May until September. The Center is open every day, including weekends and holidays, and has shifts from 8am-noon, noon-4pm, or 4-8pm (shift example: Wednesdays, 8am-noon). We understand that you may take a vacation, but we need to know that you can be here each week to help with the care of the animals.
The orientations for new volunteers for the 2017 season are Saturday, March 18, OR Sunday, March 26, 2017. Both orientations are from 10am-noon, here at the Wildlife Center. You must attend ONE of these orientations in order to volunteer. In order to attend, you must pre-register by email or phone.
You are required to have a current tetanus vaccine (within the past 8 years) before you begin your weekly volunteer shift in May. Minimum age requirement is 18 years of age.
To register for an orientation, please contact Jane Rakos-Yates by email or phone (see below) by March 11th, as space is limited. If you need directions, go to www.mercercountypartks.org/facilities/wildlife-center, not your GPS system.
We are looking forward to meeting you at the orientation!
