It is a fatal virus in birds. There is no treatment.
Do your part to keep the birds in the exhibit safe.
Under no circumstances should you leave the fenced pathway.
The virus can be carried on your shoes to these birds.

The Mercer County Wildlife Center cares for and rehabilitates sick, injured, and displaced native wildlife in order to return them to the wild. The patients who will be released are housed away from public view. The animals housed in the Outdoor Education Environment can no longer function in the wild. They act as foster parents and education ambassadors. Though they have adapted to life in captivity, they still retain many of their wild attitudes and behaviors and should not be confused with animals you might see in a zoo. Therefore we ask that you please follow the rules below:
No one under the age of 18 is permitted unless accompanied by a parent or an adult.
Do not touch animal enclosures or throw objects towards the enclosures
Avoid loud voices and shouting
No food or drink
No smoking
No pets
Stay on walkways - WALK DO NOT RUN
