Do you love animals? Volunteer!
Would you like to know more about caring for our injured and displaced local wildlife? Are you calm, patient, willing to take direction, and age 18 or older? We need dependable, compassionate people to help with important tasks such as cleaning animal enclosures, preparing meals, doing laundry and other miscellaneous tasks that help ensure the proper care and health of the patients in our care.
Our busy season is from April to September. During this time, we are busy caring for injured and displaced animals 12 hours a day, 7 days a week. To help us in this important work, you must be able to commit to one four-hour shift once a week (8 am to noon, noon to 4 pm, or 4 pm to 8 pm).
No experience is necessary—we offer an orientation in March before our busy season starts. Just bring your enthusiasm and dedication!
Are you handy with tools? Love working outside or just love to clean? Volunteers are also needed who are interested in helping to maintain our outdoor facilities.
The orientation dates for new volunteers are Saturday, March 17, 2018 10am-noon and Sunday, March 25, 2018 10am-noon, at Mercer County Wildlife Center. You need to attend ONE of the orientations to volunteer this season. For more information about volunteering or to sign up for an orientation session, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator at (609) 303-0552 ext. 103!
